That shoe ain't never gonna fit

I bought a pair of shoes last year- a gorgeous black suede pump with a retro heel, pointy toe and oversized bow. Very Italian.

They were exactly what I was looking for, and on sale for $40 (that was a 60% markdown let me add), except they were a half size too small. And no matter what I did (freezer, shoe horns etc.) I could never get them to stretch, and it was absolutely impossible to last more than an half hour in them.

Eight months later I bought another pair of purple suede pumps with a ridiculously high 5" stilletto heel and retro peep-toe. They make me feel incredibly sexy, and hey, they fit just right.

They may not have been what I was looking for eight months ago (would've caught my eye but probably never have picked them up), but for right now, they're absolutely perfect.

So folks, I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's not easy to let go of something that doesn't fit right and assume that something better will come along somewhere down the line, because who can honestly know that for sure? But the thing is, if you don't let go and move on, well... you'll never find out. And that shoe ain't never gonna fit. Not now, not ever.

(But for the record I still have the shoe horns in them. But that's just me, part hapless optimism, part full-on delusion.)
